Samskrita Bharati Youth Shibiram – FAQ
Samskrita Bharati is a 15 years old, non-profit organization in the UK. We are primarily dedicated to popularizing Sanskrit as a spoken language, and to bring about self-development, social change and social harmony through Sanskrit language. We promote the study and knowledge of Sanskrit by diverse means and to make the learning of Sanskrit easy and accessible to the masses.
What is the Youth Shibiram?
An exciting opportunity for youngsters (ages 14 – 34) to learn Samskritam in a fun way. A two night residential camp offers a unique experience to learn this ancient language via language games, Samskritam songs and role-play.
When is it?
Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September 2018
What is the Schedule?
Friday 7th: Arrival and registration between 6 to 8pm. Dinner will be provided.
Saturday 8th: Starting from 7am it will be a full day of classes and games to learn Samskritam. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
Sunday 9th: Final classes and Saraswati puja. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
What kind of food will be served?
We will be providing a full vegetarian diet, however if you have any additional dietary requirements such as gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance or any allergies please specify in the registration form.
What should I bring?
- Sleeping bag, pillow, bed sheet,
- Towel, toiletries (shower gel, toothbrush etc)
- Clothes for 3 days, (optional: traditional clothes for Saraswati puja)
- Notebook and pen

The venue is well accessible from the North via M5 and the South via M42. The nearest train station is Barnt Green station which is 2 miles away from the venue. The 182 and 145 buses can be taken from Kendal End Road to reach the venue. Please check public bus/train timings in planning your journey. If there are any issues that may prevent you from getting to the venue, please let us know so that we can try to arrange something.
